Bauxite

It is a clay-like mineral, consisting of aluminium oxides and aluminium hydroxides. Bauxite is used as an abrasive and catalyst. It is formed by the chemical weathering of rocks in tropical climates. Primary ore of aluminium, comprising of a mixture of hydrated aluminium oxides and hydroxides, commonly contaminated with compounds of iron, which give it a red colour.
